Pactiv Corporation (NYSE: PTV), a $3 billion specialty packaging company headquartered in Lake Forest, today announced that it is in final
contract negotiations with First Industrial, a real estate developer, to build a 320,000 square foot warehouse near it's manufacturing site
located on Morton Avenue in Jacksonville, IL. Pactiv's proposed new distribution facility will store and distribute Hefty® brand waste bags
and Hefty®One Zip® resealable food bags.
This distribution center is being designed to accommodate expected growth through 2005.
Based on projected growth through 2005 and the consolidation of satellite operations in the region, Pactiv expects to add 10 - 15 new
warehouse jobs over the next five years. Pactiv expects to take occupancy of the new distribution center by the end of this year.
Consistent with existing operations, the facility will operate 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.
The distribution center will
support approximately 45 inbound shipments per day, including deliveries from Pactiv's manufacturing sites on Superior Avenue and Morton
Avenue in Jacksonville, and 45 outbound shipments per day.
